Tweetbot vs Echofon.

Some people I follow on Twitter write blogs with interesting content, and some posts reward reading when I have time to concentrate. Others have become legacy follows, who I don't want to unfollow, but don't want to read. (I have my reasons.)

So these two circumstances require two specific functions in my Twitter client. Instapaper linkage and muting.

Now I like a good interface as well as the next guy. Maybe more. Interface is what Tweetbot is all about. It is indeed beautiful! But function trumps form in the competitive environment that is twitter clients. For now, the function of Echofon trumps Tweetbot. The next release of Tweetbot promises to make Instapaper support "more obvious". Since I find it's currently impossible to find support, I am curious about what lengths they go to.

Interestingly, the discussion Tweetbot has inspired has been spirited. Today on Daring Fireball, Gruber posted this.

Also related to this topic, the long anticipated TweetDeck for iPhone was released today. It merits a look as well, in the coming days.
