Apple software updates for my MacBook Pro don't normally inspire much urgency, so I was not even aware of 10.6.6 or whatever it is. Then I read about the Aperture deal- $79.99 on the newly launched Mac App Store. It took a few minutes for me to figure out I had to update OS X, so update I did. It went smoothly and sure enough, the App Store icon showed up in my Dock.
From there it was easy to click, scroll, click, type my information (you don't still have one click buying enabled at the Apple Store, do you? Not with 50,000 Apple IDs stolen and being auctioned in China as I Write?).
The download took a bit of time, the voila, Aperture. Apparently it overwrite my trial version in a big waste of bandwidth, but what do I care, they're only...uh...only... electrons?
