bringing engineering and manufacturing excellence to the mundane flashlight. With the Cree LED, lighting power has increased beyond what was thought possible a couple of years ago.
I confess I used to watch CSI to see their flashlights. It was like they couldn't work without a massive high power light cutting the gloom of the Las Vegas sun. The 4Sevens AA2 Turbo has an enlarged head, thus a reflector more highly tuned for pure beam throw. And it looks cool.
As a base spec for any piece of battery operated kit I carry, AA battery power is essential. I want to carry one battery type only, and the ubiquitous AA is the best package of availability, power and size.
The Turbo is a good compromise between beam throwing and size, and I like the balance of it. The reflector is polished, the lens cover is high quality glass. The aircraft aluminum body is well machined, anodized right over the threads and fits together with precision.
There are 3 levels of brightness, and an SOS and strobe function. Battery life depends on how you run it, naturally. The tailcap switch allows momentary or fully on use.
I really like this light, and recommend it.
