URL Shortening- Are You Chronic?
Facebook has recently begun blocking URLs shortened with the j.mp protocol, whatever that is. Bitly uses this, among other services. Or so it is reported in TechCrunch. These shortened URLs will still work on parts of FB, but not in New Feeds, and FB claims these j.mp URLs often point to spammy or other bad links. Okay. My question is, why would anyone shorten a URL any time except when posting on Twitter? To me it is too much trouble, all that extra clicking, so I avoid shortening, except in Twitter.
