Since When is WWW a TV Channel?

I just hooked up a Samsung Blueray player that has internet capability.  It then hooked up to my wifi.  And then I proceeded to connect to Twitter, Facebook, Pandora, Picassa, Netflix, Hulu, YooTube, etc etc.  So  now I can add the content that I like to look at on my MacBook Pro.  Or iPhone.  But with a big picture.  This is so cool!  When did they start doing this?  So nice to join you here in the 21st.
